I thought of gothing myself up for today's picture and doing something truly macabre in honour of Edgar Allan Poe's 202nd birthday, but really, I think reading some of his works is the best way to honour him. Immortality is his through this simple act of reading.
So I'll leave you with a quote from the Raven, because just as the raven is still sitting above his chamber door, so too does he still sit in our hearts and minds.
"And the raven, never flitting, still is sitting, still is sitting
On the pallid bust of Pallas just above my chamber door;
And his eyes have all the seeming of a demon's that is dreaming,
And the lamp-light o'er him streaming throws his shadow on the floor;
And my soul from out that shadow that lies floating on the floor
Shall be lifted - nevermore!"
PS- and it's also national popcorn day apparently...
